CDBRA's mission is to assist all deafblind persons and their families in achieving the best quality of life by, developing programs and services to meet their needs, advocating for deafblind persons, facilitating cooperation among agencies, individuals and government, and promoting quality lifelong intervention as a right of all deafblind Canadians. They have local chapter and a directory of these is available. They will provide assistance to individuals who wish to start a support group in their locality.

The Association publishes the newsletter, Intervention, twice a year, which is a benefit of membership. They have brochures that explain the condition and organization, and about intervention. They have a bibliography of articles that are available to members and videos that are for distribution including, "Deafblindness," "Vision in Children," and "Wings." Description of Services
CBRA-NB provides Intervenor services to children and adults with deafblindness and rubella disabilities throughout the province. An Intervenor is hired to provide a ""one-to-one"" interaction with the deafblind person in his/her community with regard to social and recreational activities. The Intervenor is especially trained to individualized service plan. Other services are family relief, consulting, our Camping Experience for Deafblind persons, Family Support Group and Intervenor Services to Prince Edward Island.
 

Canadian Deafblind and Rubella Association - (Ontario Chapter) Inc, Promotes, educates and supports the deafblind community, families and service providers; advocates on behalf of them; accesses services and resources; encourages healthy, decision-oriented lifestyles.
 
Canadian Deafblind and Rubella Association - Quebec Chapter,
Canadian Deafblind and Rubella Association - Saskatchewan Chapter, Promotes, advocates and provides service for individuals who are deafblind in Saskatchewan in order that they achieve their optimal level of independence.

CANADIAN NATIONAL SOCIETY of the DEAF-BLIND, Inc. The CNSDB was registered in 1985 as a national consumer-run advocacy association dedicated to helping deaf-blind people across Canada achieve a higher quality of life.

DEAF-BLINDNESS

The loss by individuals of both vision and hearing poses unique challenges. This dual disability is both isolating and restrictive for it severely limits access to higher education, opportunities for employment and contact with society.

  For the youngest to the oldest deafblind individual, it offers rehabilitation services on a public basis. Services cover all ranges of
needs from orientation and mobility to occupational therapy, audiology, speech therapy, low vision etc... It is a french speaking organisation.

Resource Centre for Manitobans who are Deaf-Blind (RCMDB) We ame to create the opportunity for independence, dignity and empowerment for non-congenital deaf-blind adults in Manitoba. We are committed to provide quality services that are consumer driven and responsive to needs.

The Adaptive Technology Resource Centre (ATRC) is devoted to increasing the accessibility of information technology. The ATRC is involved in research and development to find innovative solutions to accessibility challenges. We also provide training, consultation, and information to help both educators and users to effectively use adaptive technology.
